Ronnie O’Sullivan beat Jimmy White 4-2 at the Scottish Open to reach the last 16 of the World Snooker ranking event.
Five-time world champion O’Sullivan will play Mark Allen later in Glasgow.
Allen overcame Li Hang 4-3 in his third-round match, while home favourite Stephen Maguire lost by the same margin to Mark Williams.
But fellow Scot John Higgins progressed after beating Mei Xi Wen 4-0, with Judd Trump also advancing without losing a frame as he overcame Noppon Saengkham.
Higgins will play Dominic Dale, while Trump faces Kyren Wilson.
Marco Fu, Barry Hawkins, Neil Robertson and Liang Wenbo were among the other winners in Thursday’s afternoon session.
